Emmy fashion
Everyone interested in fashion has an opinion on red carpet styles — myself included.
I gave my opinion of Emmy Award bests and worst on my azcentral blog, Spinning Wheels, which includes (but is not exclusive to), these hideous heels worn by Rita Wilson.
I love the leath-a
“I’m all about leather this fall,” a friend told me the other night while wearing her new faux leather pants from Forever 21. She’s not the only one.
Leather is EVERYWHERE this season. Drew Barrymore just wore a fitted bondage-esque dress to the premiere of her new film, Whip It. Isla Fisher, Kristin Cavallari and a bunch of off-duty models have been wearing it. But you know when “tastemaker” Chloe Sevigny shows up to a magazine party in an uber-unflattering black leather jumpsuit, that this trend is going to go in uncomfortable places.
What’s fantastic about leather (or pleather) this season: It can look any way you want. Simple chic or tough as nails or girly girl…

What’s Cracking Good (for some) — Over-the-knee Boots
I think over-the-knee boots are supercool…on other people.
Unless you’re talking waders…Those, I think I can rock.
It’s not that I don’t love that swash-buckle-y style, it’s just a lot of trend, and I don’t have a lot of leg. But if I had legs for days, money to burn and places to go, I might try this Joie pair from Revolve and/or these Fiorentini’s from Barney’s.

Splurge vs steal
My sister sent me a link to these flat riding-style boots from Old Navy for a totally reasonable $34.50. Compare that with a similar boot for nearly $200.
