Black Friday in Phoenix: So many ways to save
So, not only is Friday the infamous (famous?) Black Friday — day of deals, lines, crazy pre-holiday crowds — it is also the start of Local First’s Buy Local week (Nov. 26 – Dec. 5 ).

MY TIPS FOR BLACK FRIDAY
- Do your homework first
Do your eyes tend to glaze over when you see a 50% off sign? Make sure you don’t buy for buying sake by making a list of what you want/need — and stick to it!
- Is it really a deal?
My dad has a closet full of “amazing deals” he’s purchased over the years — and never worn. “But it’s Ralph and it was 50% off 75%!” he’ll say. It’s still $10 that could have been put toward something that isn’t just taking up room in your closet.
- Dress for the task at hand
Don’t put on your cutest outfit and heels to traverse the mall. You’ll want to wear something that’ll be comfy to walk (or run) the length of the mall — and easy to change in and out of. The name of the game on Black Friday is speed!
