For the past 5 months, my wardrobe has consisted of exclusively nursing tanks, t-shirts and khakis/jeans/shorts. In a word: uninspiring.

My outfits have been lackluster out of function (nursing), temperature (it’s flipping hot), thrift (none of my shirts fit my now-ample bosom) and need (I’m not really going anywhere). So while my real wardrobe needs are minimal, my online shopping carts have become something of an obsession.

I’m coveting everything. Everything.

I want heeled loafers, leopard coats, snug blazers, bow tops, necklaces, bracelets and rings. I want boot-cut jeans, pretty blouses, ballet flats and cool bags.

When I shop online, my wardrobe needs are extensive, as is my wallet.

My next few posts (it’ll take a few), are some things that are in my shopping carts around the Web.

A new J. Crew store opened this week at the Biltmore — which seemed like a good reason to put my blogging hibernation behind me.

No more hauling to Scottsdale Fashion Square or Kierland Commons for a classic-yet-trendy fashion fix!

Now cashmere cardigans, denim work shirts and boatneck tees are just a stone’s throw away.

“I do all my J. Crew shopping online,” says my husband.

“Well you’re a boy, and you don’t have to try things on,” I retort.

“I guess they have better sale stuff in store…” he continues.

Atta boy.

What’s new: Frances Studio

\When I heard that Red Hot Robot was moving out of Medlock Plaza, I immediately
emailed Georgeanne Bryant, owner of cool-spots Frances & Smeeks, and asked if
she was going to give that space her magic touch.

“My family would kill me,” she replied.

Her family must have come to terms with the fact that the city needs her. Friday, June 3rd marked the opening of the new accessories and shoe store, Frances Studio — which carries many of the cool, eclectic brands found in Frances Vintage, like Toms and Orla Kiely…and then some. What you’ll find: unique tapestry bags, cool artisan pendants, funky footwear.

Now the piercing shop next door needs to relocate so Bryant can start a stationery store.

Spring stripes splurges and steals

Warm weather has pretty much descended on Phoenix. Word has it it’s supposed to be 91 degrees at the end of the week. Sounds like it’s time for spring-wear — and not a second too soon. I’m really tired of my baggy ensembles as of late.

Here’s an outfit that I’d like to (but probably won’t) wear to a lunch on a patio. The only accessory it needs: a margarita.

It’s supposed to be cold and rainy tomorrow — and my midsection looks like I’m concealing a several pieces of sporting equipment. Neither are ideal for spring clothes shopping. That, however, doesn’t keep me from wanting.

What should I be reading?

I’m always looking for a book to read.

Not just a book, but a REALLY good book to read.

During a recent office purge (part of goal #1), I found an old Entertainment Weekly list of some of the best books written in the last 25 years.

Some I’ve read (The Corrections, Into Thin Air, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), and some I’ve been meaning to read (The Road, The Handmaid’s Tale).

Granted, I think I’ve been holding onto this list for probably a couple of years, but I still link it’s probably a pretty good guide of what I could/should be reading.

Arizona ladies, your foundation (garment) is about to be rocked.

Intimacy, a new lingerie boutique by “bra whisperer” Susan Nethero (as seen on Oprah), is opening today (Monday, January 31) at Scottsdale Fashion Square.

The aim of this store: a better bra fit, which equals a better looking bust…and body all around.

Go in for your 30 minute bra consultation. I’m headed down right after my body stops inflating (I’m pregnant)– and I’ll need some guidance and support (in all meanings of the word).
