Sew cool
I have been waiting for Sew Source, a new sewing/alterations shop in Scottsdale, for a long time.
I love vintage patterns, but don’t really sew. I’ve called alterations shops around town asking if they make clothing from patterns.
I have always gotten a big fat NO. Until yesterday.
Open for one month, Sew Source appears to be a one-stop sewing shop. Need alterations, they do them. How about a custom dress shirt? They’ll create your choice of style for $100 – 200. The “Be Your Own Fashion Designer” package is $300 and up — but allows you to submit a drawing and they’ll make your item, complete with 2 fittings.
I have yet to try the spankin’ new shop, but I talked to the owner, which proved fairly difficult (his English was spotty at best). Communication is easy…but now I can see a light at the end of my vintage dress tunnel.
