De-scaling

I read somewhere that you should take lukewarm showers in the winter to save your skin from winter dryness.

Lukewarm showers.  I think I’d rather have season-long body dandruff than take a lukewarm shower when it’s 55 degrees in my house.

A hot shower or bath is really one of my few respites from the frigid weather (it’s all relative, people!).

A fungus among us

“Are there mushrooms growing in your garden?” a garden guy from the Downtown farmer’s market asked me after I’d purchased yet another bag of his organic compost.

“Should there be?” I asked.

“Yes.”

I didn’t see them then, but I’m certainly seeing them now. Here one day, gone the next.
